IFC Player Team Placement Policy
- Placement on an IFC competitive travel team is based on an open tryout process conducted by the IFC coaching staff.
- Players are evaluated on their technical skills, tactical awareness, dedication, work ethic, maturity and sportsmanship. IFC Team Coaches make the final decision on which team a player will be assigned to.
- All players will be encouraged to play age appropriated groups when possible. In the event a player or team can be enhanced by playing out of their age group it is considered by IFC coaching staff.
- All players must tryout in order to be assigned to an IFC team.
- On being assigned to a team and after the player has signed an IFC player commitment form, a player will stay with the assigned team for the complete soccer year.
- In the event that an opportunity occurs that gives a player the opportunity to play at a higher level a player can be reassigned to a more advanced team.
- Example of this would be if an opening occurs at a higher level/age group team and it is determined by IFC Coaches that a player would benefit from training/playing with more advanced team.
- All player assignments/reassignments will be based on player development/ability appropriate considerations as a priority and secondly on a team needs basis.
- Team rosters are formed initially at the end of Spring season tryouts and will be kept in place unless circumstances determine that rosters changes are deemed necessary by IFC.
- Players can be added to rosters throughout the year if in the opinion of the IFC Coaches that it is appropriate to make team roster changes/amendments that benefit the needs of IFC.
- If circumstances determine that there is an overflow of players for a particular age group then IFC coaches will decide whether an additional team can be formed in a particular age group. Player development considerations will take priority in this situation.
